I just discovered the work of 18 year old photographer Gabriela Mendez. Based in Miami, she is inspired by the colorful city she lives and works in. Artist Spotlight: Tracey Emin

I’m a big fan of artist Tracey Emin. Particularly her work in neon.  Her neon, like much of her work, focuses on language, sometimes containing swear words and misspellings, and is confessional and highly personal in nature. It is truthful and provocative- she tells us both the wonderful and terrible truths about her own life. It is just this highly personal and confessional nature of her work that appeals to me.
